Team Lessig Tech: jump in!

Hello all,

Welcome again to the group.

A few updates:

1. We have created a slack channel for the techteam volunteers.  Please let us know if you want an invite to chat with others reals-time.

2. We are going to be hacking on a project for users to submit video to us based on the questionR codebase tomorrow.  This will be in San Francisco.  We are also standing up a fundraising call tool.

3. I've updated everyone to receive "All Email" from the group.  This is a minimum participation level for Lessig Tech team.

let me know if you want me to add you to slack and if you are available this weekend to help get a few things rolled out.

This next week is key for us and I hope that we can count of your help!

One topic I did not see on the discussions here is securing the different platforms you are standing it. You have to be aware that the more dynamic content you put on your website and the more third party apps and mashups you use the higher the chance of a compromise.

Keeping the pages simple is key to securing them. You don't want to be in a situation where someone posts offensive material because they compromised the site.

Just wanted to bring this issue to your attention.

Hi Aaron,

I'm interested in getting involved. This post is the only place I see some priorities put out there on what needs to be done. How do you recommend getting started? If there's an issue tracker/backlog somewhere I can jump in and find something to work away on.

My dominant platforms are C++ (probably not so useful here :-( ) and Python on linux. I've done some side projects with bootstrap and pelican (static site generator). I'm comfortable picking up whatever I can to help out around here.

PS- I just read about Bernie's equivalent of this in the NYT today (http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/04/us/politics/bernie-sanders-presidential-campaign-tech-supporters.html) and I'm happy to see you're already at work here and was happy that Lessig2016 is on github.
