Special shout-out
To the Blue Lightning LEGOBots of Kentucky, who turned their attention to a very popular part of our program this season. Coach Andrew writes:

Our team decided on old LEGO as our piece of trash, so we created a collection campaign to collect as many old LEGO as we could. We created a new LEGO set called "BLLB VMA Imagination Mystery" that is a random assortment of about a pound of LEGO (with 1 mini figure & a set of 4 wheels) that is packaged into a clear plastic container (similar to a peanut butter jar) with a label on it, so that the kids from DCCH Center for Children and Families ( a children's home in the area for kids who are orphans or in foster care) could each have a container to put the LEGO in when they weren't playing with them. We already dropped off 57 of these containers to DCCH, with the help of 51 other Villa students we created a total of about 150 containers. Our goal was to collect enough LEGO to make one container for all 40 kids living there. Since we still had more LEGO, we made more of the containers for other kids that DCCH helps, but who don't live there. We are doing an out-of-uniform day to raise money for the kids at DCCH to receive an EV3 robot. We plan on teaching the kids how to use the robot when we drop it off with an extra field set-up

Not going to lie... Sharing LEGO love gave us major warm fuzzies.

What is YOUR team up to? Be proud to make it loud and tell us all about what you've been doing with a tweet to @firstlegoleague. Or, shoot us an email at fllt...@firstinspires.org. Then watch this space. Next time, we may be shouting out to YOU!

Thank you, thank you very much
Our FIRST LEGO League Global Sponsors help us bring our program to students around the globe. Hands in the air for 3M, NI, Rockwell Automation, and, of course, LEGO®
