Hello and welcome,The emails you receive from the Town of Ramapo Challenger Center FIRST LEGO League Team (torc...@gmail.com) are posted on a Google Groups Discussion List webpage. This Welcome link will bring you to the webpage where all our Topics are posted in a list. Also, please check out this Calendar link which will display our meetings in Google Calendar. Our first meeting will be from 6pm-8:30pm on September 17th. Registration forms can be picked up at the beginning of the meeting and must be returned by September 24th. A final price has yet to be determined as some new members have yet to add their email address to this list, but to reiterate an approximation for over the next five months, parents can expect a cost upwards of three-hundred dollars. Please become familiar with the FIRST LEGO League website. We'll review information from the website at meetings, but please be sure to have your child read the Robot Game and Project .pdf file on the challenge page, as well as the Core Values and the explanation of Gracious Professionalism and Coopertition.Parents, ask prospective team members to tell you about the Robot Game and the Project, and ask them to tell you what they think the Core Values might mean for them as individuals and as a team. Break it up, ask them one part now and a different part later and another part tomorrow. Give them a chance to practice their own responses and just listen. If they sound off track, we will clarify them at the meetings. The skills and values the kids are learning through FIRST LEGO League will be lessons that last their entire lives. It teaches them lessons in Math and Science, teamwork and communication skills that will enable them in school and the work force when they come of age, and relationship and personal skills they can utilize today and that will last a life time. Listening to their responses every day will give them a chance to show you how much they have learned and how proud you can be of them becoming responsible contributing members of our community.- Coach Alex
This a very sad for us. I hope that it was not a factor that no one replied to the alternative coaching email. It was assumed that we would discuss it tonight.
