Long Beach arrangements are almost final. Looking forward to this large out of town race. Let's go conquer Long Beach!
here are some details about the race.
It starts at 7AM so we should plan to be at the start line by 6:30 or so. There will be lines at the porta potties. If someone is planning to entirely walk the race, they can start early at 6:15. Not walk/run this is entirely walk! The race gives you 7.5 hours to finish and the walkers have another 45minutes.

HotelsHotels: Lists should be final by now. Everyone should know where they are staying. If you are staying at the Marriott please change the room to your name when you get there.

From the Residence Inn, you can take the same bus service as described below. Or if you have a car you can drive up and go back after the carbo load dinner.
No bib no race medal. If you cannot be there, make sure, someone is picking up your bib.

It’s walking distance from the Mariott. Free validated parking.
Getting to the race:Mariott folks can walk to the race start.
Residence Inn folks:
There is a Long Beach Transit bus which is supposed to offer free rides to the marathon runners. The bus stop is outside the Residence Inn and it takes about 30minutes to go to the downtown area which is about 4 miles away. Even if not free, this service costs about $1.25

3/4 people should be able to share a cab. Even if you have a car, driving is not recommended to the race. Parking is expected to be difficult, unless someone can drop you off.
Breakfast that morningThe hotels are not planning on setting up breakfast early.
I strongly recommend picking something up the night before. Get your Gatorade, get your bagel and banana.
