DEVELOPER STORIES

How Speechify is evolving into a hands-free AI assistant

Thanks to its smart use of the Foundation Models framework, SwiftUI, Metal, and more, the app is closer than ever to being keyboard-free.

NEWS AND UPDATES

Validate your app’s behavior with the latest model version

In iOS 26.4, iPadOS 26.4, macOS 26.4, and visionOS 26.4, an update to the Foundation Models framework improves instruction-following and tool-calling abilities. With this update, the model changes when a person updates their device, so test your prompts with the new model to verify your app’s behavior.

New Python bindings for the Foundation Models framework provide access to the on-device model at the core of Apple Intelligence on macOS. This can help you evaluate your prompts and features and analyze the results.

Support your app on compatible devices

Get tips from App Review on how device compatibility impacts your app’s distribution — and how to make sure your apps shine on different platforms.

Age requirements for apps distributed in Brazil, Australia, Singapore, Utah, and Louisiana

There‘s an update on the tools available for developers to meet their age assurance obligations under upcoming U.S. and regional laws. Updates to the Declared Age Range API are now available in beta for testing.
