Greetings from Subhiksha Voluntary Organization !!
As you are aware Subhiksha Voluntary Organization a Non-government Development Organization started in the year 2009 working in areas of Child’s Education, Health, Empowerment of Girl Child/Women, Disaster Management registered under Societies Act with a mission to empower masses through education. Children’s education therefore occupies centre stage of Subhiksha’s agenda.
To
most of us Summer reminds us of the good old days of fun and frolic the
most memorable days of our life. But for the underprivileged children
they are deprived and unfortunately many of the children come from poor
families and have no way to entertain them during summer holidays or
learn new skills.
With
a vision to ensure children an opportunity to learn skills they do not
normally get and more emphasis is based on activity based joyful
learning
and exposure to wide range of skills, Subhiksha organising Summer Camp
2011 and it is scheduled from 1st May to 3rd June 2011. Summer camps are
planned to keep the interest of coming back to school alive in all
those children who usually after vacation do not rejoin schools and also
for those who never experienced schooling.
Story reading, rhymes, painting, music, dance, theater, Fun with science, Fun with Maths, Sports, Computers ... a host of joyful activities will be organised for the children of government schools and slum communities of Kukatpally Housing Board Colony.
We sincerely request you to support in this endeavor by providing resources (Sports material, Drawing Sheets, crayons)and materials to carry out the activities. Also individual sponsorships also welcomed You can adopt few children and make a difference. We also need volunteers to teach/mentor children.
Please send this message to various groups of people and your support will really help the underprivileged children access to formal education.

I spoke to Aruna, the Secretary of this orphanage asking if they can send over any of their volunteers to collect the toys from us, to which she has responded positively.
So incase if you find it difficult to visit the place by yourself and handover your donation, there is this alternative too.
Here is her number - 9581816262. You can mention your address, and ask for this place's correct location etc.
Below are the details of the progress of the summer camp and other expenses of theirs, interested folks might want to sponsor a child or sponsor a fun activity.
We would like to share that Summer Camp has been initiated and other preparatory arrangements for organising various programmes are finalised like Fun with Science and practical session on activities based on science, Three day activities with play for peace, Sports, art and craft sessions, activities related to environment, waste management apart from regular teaching syllabus from SSA Summer Camp Module.
In response regarding the expenses for the Summer Camp contributions can be made either in sponsorship of a child which is Rs.550/- per child and any number of children can be sponsored. Sponsoring a picnic/outing for a day is also one of the expenses for the Summer Camp Programme.
Can also sponsor Teacher's/Instructors honorarium - Rs.2,500/- (for one month)
Also support Resource persons fees for Play for Peace Organization or Science Activity - Rs.500/- per person per day.
Contributions can also be made in kind like the sports material (Carrom Boards, Chess sets, Foot balls, Volley Balls, Skipping ropes, rings, Cricket Kit etc) and Prizes for the winners in the sports competitions, Drawing sheets, Crayons, Colour Pencils, Brushes.
