Writing your own widgets

G'Day all,

Is their a guide (preferably in PDF format) that explains how the software hangs together and how to write and integrate your own widgets into team dashboard?

I am also interested in dynamically building dashboards for specific clients when they log in and only have widgets relevant to the services we host for them.
