Hi Skippers etc

Please read the following information.

regards Kev Scott  Platu National Class of Thailand co-ordinator.

Top of The Gulf Regatta 2013.

Platu Charter customer notes. Also some relevant details for all competitors shown in blue.

Welcome to Pattaya and the Ocean Marina Yacht Club. Thankyou for chartering/entering a Platu for the Top of the Gulf regatta and we hope you have a successful event.

We inspect all charter boats thoroughly but it is possible to miss something and if so please report it to us as quickly as possible. If anything breaks during the event report it as soon as you get back to the dock so it can be fixed. As far as possible all charter boats are of equal condition and capable of winning as proven many times in the past. Last year the top three Platus were all charter boats.

All boats are class legal as they are handed over so please be aware of the following.

1.      You must race with the engine stored in its engine locker and you must carry the anchor/chain and rope,  stored in the port locker below decks. Unless being used for anchoring.

2.      The red, 3 litre, spare fuel can must be carried on board and be full AFTER the last race of each day. If you have a need to use any of this petrol make sure you tighten the cap VERY tightly after use. Refill from  the spare, red , Ferret, 25 litre fuel cans provided on the quay.  All competitors welcome to use this petrol.

3.      Charter baots are provided with two jib sheets, a spinnaker  sheet and two winch handles. These are kept on the hooks on the starboard side below decks and should be returned there when not being used. There is also a bucket and sponge in the starboard locker below. Two mooring lines and a fender are also provided. There are 5 life jackets and a safety collar on board. If you have 6 crew and need an extra life jacket please ask for one.

4.      If you are using sails provided with the boat please make sure they are put back into the sail bags and stored below after the regatta.

5.      You should collect your TRACKER unit, in its waterproof bag, every day, from the board near the exit to the bar. Hang it from the port mooring cleat near the transom. Return it to the board after racing each day for recharging and uploading to the website.

6.      It would be appreciated  if all competitors would fly the Thai flag provided, after racing each day.

7.      The International Platu Class rules 2011 and the Thai amendments to those rules, dated 13 April 2013, can be seen on www.yachtsinthailand.com.  A hard copy will also be available with race management.

8. All crews will be weighed at registration.

9. The organisers will allow sail numbers to differ from hull numbesr but both must be declared at registration.

10 Thankyou for your entry and if I can help in any way please ask.
