Hey guys - here's what I came up with - feel free to make edits as necessary (might be too "rah-rah-sis-boom-bah") and I can send out the plan to him after we get everyone's buy-in.

We regrouped after our call over the weekend and spent some time considering some of the insights gained and wanted to ensure that our business plan for you reflected the great opportunity that iOpt has in the marketplace, which is substantiated from our overall market assessment and from our research. As we indicated on the call, we concluded that none of your major competitors are providing a holistic solution that fully captures iOpt's functionality and opportunity for the end user and that customers are looking for easier ways to view their data in their operations. Combining technology, superior customer service, and customer interaction will be the exact formula needed to succeed.

Our original plan definitely represented a more conservative approach when it came to several of the elements required to be successful to execute this plan. But we also wanted to consider Optemizer users having the option to switch to iOpt without a rebate. We also made considerations to increased productivity over the 5 years of your salesforce that is grounded in the strength of your CEO, Director of Sales and Marketing Manager, who are critical components to building the foundation and relationships necessary to move the company forward.

The substance of the plan is the same in terms of major recommendations, but we wanted to also clarify some of the items that we discussed on the call that may not have been as apparent upon reading the plan. The most significant changes are in the financials. Grounding the company in the right talent, relationships, and networks, supported by a carefully built social media and thought leadership campaign can yield great results.

In setting the right foundation over the specified timeline in the business plan, Pacsoft can truly capitalize on truly being differentiated from the competitive landscape.

Please feel free to contact us directly with questions on the attached.

Looks great, Clarissa. Thanks for putting this together.

Couple comments:
  • The text doesn't really say that we modified the business plan - we may just want to say something along the lines of "We regrouped after our call over the weekend ...and ended up modifying sections business plan to address some of your comments and clarify our findings."
  • Do we also want to mention that Morris consulted us in this? I know Darby doesn't seem to fond of Morris and I don't know how much influence this will have though.
  • We may want to mention that at this point, there can be no further modifications to the business plan. I think he understands this, but it wouldn't hurt to make it clear to him.
  • You can also remind him that he will receive our redacted primary research report on Sunday (AUS time).

All good comments Heather! I agree on all points. I'll try to revise the text below in a bit to include it all... But I'm actually working on work stuff today! It's a record! 3 days in a row!

Agree on all counts with Heather, especially the no more changes.

And I don't believe that you're doing real work today. Just can't.

We regrouped after our call over the weekend and worked to clarify our findings to address some of your comments last week on the business plan.

As we indicated on the call, we concluded that none of your major competitors are providing a holistic solution that fully captures iOpt's functionality and opportunity for the end user and that customers are looking for easier ways to view their data in their operations. Combining technology, superior customer service, and customer interaction will be the exact formula needed for Pacsoft to succeed. None of your major competitors have been able to perfect this in the marketplace, which resonated throughout our market research.

Additionally, our original plan definitely represented a more conservative approach when it came to several of the elements required to be successful, so we wanted to consider Optemizer users having the option to switch to iOpt without using a financial incentive. So you'll see
the most significant changes are in the financials. There is an assumption made that 75% will want to switch by 2017. Additionally, we made considerations to increase productivity of your salesforce over the next 5 years that is grounded in the strength of your CEO, Director of Sales and Marketing Manager, who are critical components to building the foundation and relationships necessary to move the company forward. We also collaborated with John Morris during this process.

Grounding the company in the right talent, relationships, and networks, supported by a carefully built social media and thought leadership campaign, can yield great results.

In setting the right foundation over the specified timeline in the business plan, Pacsoft can truly capitalize on truly being differentiated from the competitive landscape.

Please feel free to contact us directly with questions on the attached. Our updates to primary research will be sent to you on Sunday (Australia time).
