Position Description:
Ø Candidate will be Responsible for the development Cognos 8 Reports, Dashboards and enhancements to existing reports.
Ø Effort will include working with team members and customers to define and document requirements and develop reports and dashboards based on discovery.
Ø Candidate will develop reports based on current standards and best practice.
Ø Candidate will be responsible documenting reports as part of the effort.
Ø Majority reports shall be developed in Cognos and other application embedded reports shall be developed in BIRT.
Ø Successful candidate will be taking ownership of Cognos reports and may play a supporting role in BIRT development.
Skills Required:
Ø Skills Required - Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with at least 7-8 years of related work experience.
Ø Proficient in Cognos 8.x, Dashboard Reporting, Standard Reporting, Report Optimization, Cognos SDK JAVA development, Strong Transact SQL (MS SQL Server).
Ø Proficient in working with Cognos Transformer Cubes and SQL server cube.
Ø Preferred skills - BIRT 2.3.2 Report development in a Java application environment.
Ø Proven experience in playing a lead role on Dashboards/Reporting & BI projects.
Ø Excellent problem solving, analytical ability and debugging skills.
Ø Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ø Working knowledge of Cognos Framework Manager. IBM RAD Version 6, & IBM WAS Version 6 would be nice to have.
