Thanks, Alexa.  And thank you for getting this group started in the first place!  I think we all need to take a moment and consider what this group has accomplished together in less than a year...

4a) Team G&W asks Mayor for Traffic study, he says spend money on physical improvements and call a community meeting to decide what we want

4b) 2/23/12 community meeting at Wesley Church (hosted by Pastor Shin, moderated by State Rep Sciortino) - develop shared vision for neighborhood raised crosswalk plan.  50-75 attendees.

5a) 2/28/12 Tufts Daily article published about Tufts Campus Mobility Study 

6) After 2/23 meeting G&W team calls for Mayor to give us raised crosswalks AND to ask folks in Tufts Daily article to help (Lois Stanley, Dick Reynolds who is retiring this week but may keep this on as a special project, Barbara Rubel)

7a) Tufts says that we can't just do any old raised crosswalk plan, we need a Traffic Study!

7b) Tufts offers to PAY for the traffic study

7c) Tufts is DOING the $16K traffic study (which we had originally asked for)

Over the past year we have pulled together as a community group, the Mayor has listened to us and worked with Tufts, and now Tufts is helping us out right now.  IIRC, we still have the $40K to spend on physical improvements to the intersection and we will have VHB telling us what works best.  Check out their website, they seem pretty qualified to help.

Wait.! Could people hold off on the self-implementation of signs and such?
We worked very hard to have the good relationship we have with the
Mayor/Tufts/City Council. I do not wish to jeopardize this at the moment.
At least if people want to move forward with measures, may we at least take
a vote? Otherwise, can you make it clear to the powers that Be that these
potential actions (signs, road painting? ) are the acts of individuals, not
the Team Medford group? Thanks.
