Ann: I appreciate your enthusiasm,  I guess my mistake was calling it a "party". It's really the dedication of the crosswalk. I think Korean pot-luck barbecues are fine, but not quite called for in this particular instance. What I envision is basically a grouping around the crosswalk of people close to the project, and perhaps neighbors who would like to attend. A quick word from the Mayor and a couple of key people, a photo for the press, and then mingling with a few snacks available inside.

Could  other people weigh in before any concrete planning happens?

Don't get me wrong, I love lemonade -- but I'm thrilled by the prospect of home-made Korean cooking at Pastor Shin's church!  I know they're probably just as excited as we are about the crosswalk and it is always fun to feel like part of the celebration.   If everyone brought an item, we'd have a grand old time.

Parking lot or downstairs... we should figure this out together.

Want to meet up at the UMC Wesley church Sunday after services this weekend?  We could say 12 noon.  I think it would be quicker, easier and more fun to organize this in person.  Maybe Julian and his wife (who is also Korean) might be willing to come along, too.

Let me know!

Peace,
Ann

HI I would be glad to handle food- but I think potluck may be too ambitious. I'm not up for managing a meal. I was going to do cookies and lemonade, and I do not think inviting all congregations formally is a good idea- they may get the idea that it's mandatory. A simple poster announcing the party- like the one we hung on the fence inviting people to the first meeting shall suffice. We will be listing the event in the Transcript and Patch.

I just wanted to make sure what you had meant. It is a good idea, I also think, to invite them.
If it is 6 o'clock, Tuesdays and Thursdays may be good days for our party.
Potluck would be a good choice we can make.

I thought they should be invited since we all share the same space, but I don't know any better.  You make the call!

Good morning, Ann,

A quick question:
What do you mean by "Could all 3 congregations be included?"?
Are you inviting them to our party?

Shin

Hi Pastor Shin,

We're aiming for any evening the weeks of Sep.15th or 22nd.

Which nights in those two weeks would the church be available?  Could all 3 congregations be included?

I'm sure we're all trying to find a balance for folks' schedules.

Maybe we could have some easy food for folks after work, like 6ish?

Potluck?

Thanks.

Ann

We'll be heading down to the church soon.

Today is pretty low key I think...
