Dear Councilors Camuso and Marks,

Thank you for all that you do for this community.  I've seen many improvements around the City of Medford, especially the Library, and they are much appreciated.

The raised crosswalk at 100 Winthrop Street has been serving us well, but I'm afraid the winter storms have taken their toll.  It is now almost invisible to motorists!

The safety lines must be repainted if they are going to be effective.

I know that the two of you care about this crosswalk as much as we do, and the contactor, Vincent P. Barone (cc'd here), was wonderful to work with.  By copy of this email I will let Vinnie know how much we appreciate his efforts.  Hopefully, this can get scheduled for later in the spring.

I leave it in your capable hands, and thanks so much again.

Happy Spring!

Thx Ann. I'd need to check my notes for specifics but I know the mayor specifically provided for this maintenance.  :-)

Hi Ann,

I will request that the city use thermoplastic paint to mark the crosswalks which is highly reflective and last 3-5 years.....Mike

In my opinion the city should repaint with thermoplastic which is far more reflective than regular paint and last 3-5 years. I will put this before the council on Tuesday.....Mike

Thanks, Paul.  It would be great to get all the crosswalks touched up, money permitting -- but to me, this one's the priority!

All the best on this snowy Monday!

Very much appreciate your kind attention to this important neighborhood safety concern.

Ann

Thank you Councilor Marks. I wonder if the two crosswalks at the school bus stop will be painted as well? On George and Winthrop. They are barely visible and it's where the kids cross.

I think there was something like 5-7k allocated for this maintenance (for the lifetime of the crosswalk. )
