Hey Gang,

As some of you may already know I have been working with the Adobe Community Leaders for some months now on adopting the cfSpeakerList code TCFA wrote. Well, after a long wait it has finally come to pass. Have a look:

http://speakers.adobe.com/

Proof positive that when the community puts its mind to doing something, we can get it done. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped out on this project with code, testing and a little push and shove as needed to get this through the Adobe red tape.

   Congratulations Team CF Advance!

Now, please be merry and fruitful and help spread the news about our accomplishment! \o/

Also... if you're an ACP or UGM and like speaking at user groups, conferences and the like - be sure to sign up on that site!

- Denny

Awesome! Looks like you're the only speaker listed in all the USA. Haha

I have some suggestions for the search interface, so I'll make that the objective of my first ever contribution to open source. Looks like you've done a GREAT job of linking to the Git project and the setup instructions are detailed, so getting myself up to speed should be a slam dunk. Keep an eye out for my pull request :)

Oops, quick note in case someone gets a chance to submit a fix before I do-- the image on the signup completion page is broken-- CFML in the source.  Looks to be missing a cfoutput.

Sweet! Yeah, anything you guys think could be better – feel free to make changes. As the larger Adobe community starts using it, I’m sure we’ll get much more feedback on it and have change/feature requests coming in ;)

Hey Gang,

As some of you may remember we deployed our cfSpeakerList app for Adobe back in September. Unfortunately, it has since been mired in Adobe red tape and bureaucracy (and was mired in other issues before then). After speaking with the community leaders at Adobe it has been decided that we will deploy this to a separate domain for the time being, without the official support/branding of Adobe, and will migrate everything over to the speakers.adobe.com domain again once it has been cleared for take-off by the powers that be.

In addition, I have since developed and deployed some features requested by the community leader team - specifically a feedback system for speakers which is now live and operational. I spent about two weeks gathering requests from the ACP/UGM/etc. communities on this application and the scope has expanded a bit since the initial release. Some of these requests have already been implemented, some are pending implementation and some are pending further discussion.

The new site for this is: http://www.acpspeakers.com/. It is now officially released and ready for action.

If you had previously signed up with the speakers.adobe.com site, you will need to re-signup with the new site. The old site will (shortly) be taken offline pending Adobe approval to bring it back online using the updated code and will simply redirect users to the new site for the time being.

As is typical of a product launch, people are now coming out of the woodwork with thoughts, ideas and suggestions for the application in the larger Adobe community. I'm collecting these through the ACP/UGM private forums, via email and have asked that issues/bugs/feature requests be submitted through GitHub's issues. I will be adding some of the suggestions I've already collected today or tomorrow to GitHub issues as time allows.

If you are bored and would like to help TCFA, CFML and the larger Adobe community then watch for issues/requests made on GitHub (https://github.com/teamcfadvance/cfSpeakerList/issues) for this application and feel free to jump in. Just shoot me an email if you want to tackle a specific task so I can confirm nobody else is already working on it, etc. Now that we're live and operating, and announced to the ACP/UGM, etc. communities, we're likely to see an influx of requests as people use the system and come up with things they would like to see added or done differently.

I couldn't present you with a better opportunity to flex your CFML muscles if I handed it to you on a silver platter. The more successes we can build as a team (e.g. not just me) the more traction we'll get as a force in the community. Let's get rockin'!
