Dear all

During my recent visit to Kolkata, I have been approached with an idea of organising a London Ananda Utsav type event in UK.

The budget will be much less than Ananda Utsav (which have a budget of £250.000+), more in the lines of Prabash Parbani, with sponsors from India.

The expectation is:

  1. The Kolkata connections will bring in the money and the mela participants
  2. The UK based organisations will be responsible for the delivery and ensure the visitors
  3. The focus will be on the Mela side of things with the singers and other participants mainly drawn for us, in UK
  4. There could be some big names from India and/or Bangladesh, only if budget permits
  5. Visitors will go to the Mela for the Stalls

I thought, it would be prudent to do an event like that under the PBU (Prabashi Bangali Utsav Banner) banner, than the LSU- then each Organisation can participate, as if it was their event, to make it a success.

I am writing this mail to a group with whom I have done events in the past and I know could be interested in a proposal like this.

This event would be in similar lines of the NABC, which is delivered by the Organisations themselves in US and Canada.

There could even be some financial benefits to the Organisations, but details are not yet clear even to me- I would assume, its very early days and we can talk and mould the thing the way its best serves all the interested parities- those Event Managers in Kolkata, Organisations here, Artists, Stall Owners etc.

If you find this interesting, do write back to me and we can discuss in further details and move ahead.

On another front, www.bangalive.com has proposed delivering a Brochure for Saraswati Pujo, a first of its kind, for the various Organisations doing Saraswati Pujo in UK- again this will be delivered under the PBU banner, like it was for the Durga Puja- if yoour Organisation wants to be a part of this do write back to me or Sarada Basu (suche...@gmail.com).

If any of you can help raise a Sponrsohip of £1,000, we can event have the Brochure printed and circulated also, during our Saraswati Pujos, like we did for Durga Pujo.

They also want you to do some events with kids and adults during the Saraswati Pujo- you need to record them and upload in their website, based on which they will be judging and awarding prizes. The details of events will be made known in due course.

You are most welcome to share this mail with others who, you may think, would be interested.

Regards
Anirban
