Hello, hello all you Team Asha runners!!! Wow, I can’t believe it is already TRAINING WEEK #3!!! My, how time flies!!! Soon you’ll all be saying, “remember when we first started running and we could only run a mile!” That time will come so quickly, and you will all be so very impressed with yourselves!!! I can’t WAIT to hear you say that!!!
So, are you all EXCITED or WHAT to run this Saturday? Let me here a HOO-HA!!! Yay for running!!! Plus, most of you are going to be looking so snazzy in those new running kicks you got at Urban Athletics after last week’s session!!! I hope you all are enjoying the feel of a good sole (pun intended ;)
Ok, so here are the details for this weekend’s training run:
What??? Team Asha Training Run #3
Where??? Same spot as last weekend – 5th Avenue and East 60th Street Entrance to Central Park (where the taxis go to turn around and they horse drawn carriages go to “relieve themselves” (this will be the LAST time we meet at this spot … after this weekend we’ll all be meeting at the Asha Tree as you’ll all know where it is by heart ;)
Why??? You want to run and show off those fabulous legs (and new sneaks!!!)
When??? Saturday, May 16th @ 10am (there is a BIG race in the Park that morning, so we will start the run later … which means … YOU CAN SLEEP IN!!!)
We will be having one of our pace runs this Saturday to help you figure out what pace you run a mile in. This will greatly help you in your training to figure out which group in which to run and how to run each mile of your training so that you don’t go out too fast and are able to maintain the pace for a given mileage.
A few things to remember:
· LAST DATE for Team Asha COMMITMENT (or “recommitment” for Team Asha alumni) is THIS Saturday, May 19th. You’ll want to sign those Runner forms, waivers and donate your $100 commitment/recommitment fee to show that you WANT to run with us, Team Asha, and fundraise for a GREAT cause!!!
· THIS SATURDAY’S RUN IS AT 10AM!!! Please be sure to NOTE this! I’d hate for you to miss a Saturday morning to SLEEP in!!! We’ll be meeting at the same spot as last weekend (5th Avenue and East 60th Street)
Also, if you didn’t have the chance to procure fabulous running kicks last Saturday, I am in the process of working out a deal with Urban Athletics so that you may go and get fitted for sneakers during the week at either their downtown or uptown locations. Stay tuned for more information.
