Good morning -

Just in case you're not aware....all ELA students are once again responsible for having an independent reading book throughout the remainder of the school year.  They are allowed to read any type of literature which may appeal to them, as long as it's on their individual reading levels (in other words, nothing too easy or too difficult).  Titles that are "banned" are:
  • any of the Twilight series
  • any of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books
  • any of the Harry Potter books
My reasoning for this is......frankly, I'm just plain, old tired of reading about those books!

The kids are expected to read for at least 45 minutes each week, and then they will be responsible for doing one of three things (to be decided by me):  1. they will complete an IR Log in class, for a grade, 2. they will be responsible for completing an IR Log at home, for a grade, or 3. they will merely have to get your signature, verifying that they have read for at least 45 minutes, as a homework check.

On a different note, last night, I sent home the review stations packet rubric for your perusal and signature.  This, as always, counts as a homework check.  It's due tomorrow.

Please let me know of any questions or concerns.

Regards -
Allison O'C.
