There has been lots of interest in Google Lit Trips so I'm passing on two pieces of info

(something similar)

2) Message from Jerome Burg about Google Lit Trip site being down recently  and the recent addition of Google Sketch Up models to one project.

"

Well, here's the scoop on what happened to GoogleLitTrips. We're back in
business for both GoogleLitTrips.com and GoogleLitTrips.org but it was a
weird couple of weeks to say the least. Towards the end of August, I got a
message from Mobile Me/.Mac saying I was in danger of exceeding their "data
transfer limits" of 600GB/month and no more than 300GB per 15 days. AND,
that if I did go over the limit they'd shut down the site until the next 15
day period started. I made it to the end of August without going over so I
considered it a fluke. However, on September 7, I got another message saying
I'd already used 75% of the data transfer limit and I hadn't even reached
half way through the 15 day cycle. Two days later I got a message saying I'd
exceeded 90% of the data transfer limit. Simple math indicated that I'd
exceed the limit the next day and be shut down for 5 days before the next 15
day cycle would begin. Since I'd maxed out the possibility of buying more
data transfer from Mobile Me/.mac I realized that I'd better do something in
a big hurry. I "quickly" arranged to move the entire site to GoDaddy where I
bought the GoogleLitTrips domain name. However, it took two days for that to
all happen so I was entirely shut down for a couple of days. I moved the
GoogleLitTrips.com address to GoDaddy but did not move the
GoogleLitTrips.org address. Those of you who got the down for excess traffic
notice until about mid day today were probably going to the .org address
rather than the .com address. Around noon today I simply had the .org
address "forwarded" to the .com site so both now work. The good news, I
suppose, is that I didn't realize that data transfer counted not only my
uploading but all the data transfer to visitor's computers. Discovering this
was a sort of "buzz kill" given how happy I was that the site was getting an
all time average of about 1,600 visitors a day for the last 10 days it was
up. And the worst news is that the visitor counter built into iWeb-based web
sites posted to MobileMe/.mac DOESN'T work on non-Mobile Me hosting sites!
So, the last count I saw was 327,571 visitors as of a few days ago. I never
would have guessed how much becoming a Google Certified Teacher would change
my expectations for how I'd spend my "retirement!" But, the REALLY COOL news
is that the newest addition to the GoogleLitTrips project is one of my all
time favorites and it was developed by brand new GCT Beryl Reid. Beryl has
created a collection of the most beautiful SketchUp buildings of Literary
Landmarks including incredible drawings of over 30 authors' homes. I hope
you'll all take a look at Beryl's work. What a gem of an addition to our
already incredible community. jerome
