Dear TEG list members,

The event below might be interest to you.

Following the successful launch of the Centre for Research into Language
(CRiL) earlier this year we have a number of events planned for this new
academic year, and wanted to give you advance notice of the first of
these, a plenary lecture by

Professor Mike Kelly (University of Southampton and Director of the
Subject Centre for Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies) to be held
on Tuesday 16th November from 6pm-7.30pm at the University of Winchester
(King Alfred Campus)

Professor Kelly will address the importance of languages in the UK,
dealing with the impact of languages on student learning, on our local
communities, and on the wider society - politically, economically and
culturally.

This is a must for all of those who have an interest in the profile of
languages in our current society.

We will send details of location and ask for confirmation of your
attendance by the end of October.

If you are interested in attending, could you please send me an email?

Best wishes,
Barbara
