We are pleased to invite you to the next CRiL (Centre for Research into Language) event on 16th November. This will take place in the Boardroom, University Centre, University of Winchester, from 6pm.

Please confirm your place by RSVP to sarah....@winchester.ac.uk)

Professor Mike Kelly, Director of the Subject Centre for Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies will be giving a talk entitled

'Every graduate qualified in a language: towards a university language policy'.

Prof Mike Kelly will address the importance for universities of developing policies to equip all graduates with skills in languages and intercultural communication. These are needed to prepare future leaders in business, the professions, voluntary organisations, education and research to thrive in global society. They should aim to  enable individuals to be comfortable in speaking another language and interacting with people from other cultural backgrounds. Mike will present current initiatives in this area and propose a number of key long-term measures and short-term actions we might take towards the goal of equipping all graduates with a language qualification.

We look forward to seeing you!

Kris
