What is the value of popcorn reading in the context of guided reading? I am not talking about a teacher quietly checking in on an individual student. I am talking about going around the table and having a "popcorn" read. It is 2014 but apparently old habits die hard. Maybe I am missing the boat on this one. Someone might be able to enlighten me.
