A friend of mine composed this nice collection that will surely be of
interest:

First, SRL is going to be performing in Los Angeles on December 22nd.
It is the most remarkable machine performance you will ever see in your
life. If you ever get the chance to see a show, you see it. There's an
unofficial motto, "One city, one show." This addresses that a
bit<http://www.lee.org/blog/2012/07/28/srl-was-on-the-cutting-edge-when-i-was-in-elementary-school/>
.

Here is the performance notification

A little more about SRL

Bring earplugs. AND earmuffs. Seriously.

Lee Sonko will be teaching a Flame Effects intensive at the Crucible
Saturday &
Sunday 2/9 -2/10, 10-6pm.

)
If you (or your friend??) can take the time, you might get more out of a 5
week class instead of the Intensive, Tuesdays 6:30pm-9:30pm Feb 26-Mar 26 (
link<https://store.thecrucible.org/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=415_442_912>
)

Lee also might be teaching a Flame Effects class in Los Angeles in the
springtime. I'm still looking for a good location to teach it (funny how
landlords shy away from the class title!). If you've got a lead on a
place, give me (l...@lee.org) a holler! Details forthcoming.

Workshop Weekend... THIS weekend!

Workshop Weekend <http://workshopweekend.net/> is becoming a pretty cool
periodic event. Lee has taught a bread class and a robot class at
previous WW
events but not this time around. Here's their
(awesome) blurb:

Workshop Weekend Oakland registration is filling up quickly!
> Join us on November 10 & 11 to solder, craft, program, build, make and
> explore. At Workshop Weekend, a flat $40 admission gets you as many
> workshops as you can handle!
> A number of workshops have already filled, but we still have seats
> available in quite a few great workshops. Register online at
> http://workshopweekend.net/oakland/catalog - there’s just one week left
> to sign up!
> For families coming to Workshop Weekend together, we’re keeping our $10
> discount for all parent admissions with the purchase of two or more
> admissions for children (under 18). Sign up on the same account, and the
> discount will be automatically applied.
> Workshops with seats still available include:

If you're into Arduino... or want to be... consider taking a class at the
Crucible. Or a lower-key route is an informal Arduino gathering...
http://teachmetomake.com/**wordpress/arduino-club<http://teachmetomake.com/wordpress/arduino-club>
.
This is put on by Michael Shiloh, a Crucible (and SFState) Physical
Computing teacher.
