Today at noon, we welcome author and Tea Party Patriots strategist Michael Prell to The Bloggers Briefing to talk about his new book, "Underdogma: How America's Enemies Use Our Love for the Underdog to Trash American Power."

Underdogma is the belief that those who have less power (underdogs) are good because they have less power -- and that those who have more power (overdogs) are bad because they have more power. Prell's book is the first in-depth study to uncover why we love underdogs and hate overdogs by examining our love-hate relationship with power throughout our history, our culture and our politics. Perhaps even better yet, the book illuminates a way to fight back against those who seek to trash -- and seize -- American power. Charles Krauthammer, Newt Gingrich and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) rave about this book. Today's briefing will demonstrate why.

Several other guests will join Prell at the presenter's table today. ConservativeHome.com editor Ryan Streeter will outline a seven-part pledge that aims to change expectations about the future so entitlements can be reformed. Freedom Action's Myron Ebell will highlight a lightbulb-ban-related petition drive. And Heritage education expert Lindsey Burke will present a new video about Washington's latest education overreach -- national academic standards for schools. The quiet adoption of national standards by all but seven states in the country threatens local control of education, but some are speaking out, as the video highlights.

We hope you can join us at Heritage HQ, 214 Massachusetts Ave., NE, or online athttp://thebloggersbriefing.com.

Cheers,

Tina

It’s interesting to observe the tactics used to sell- in this case an author.  Here, Charles Krauthammer, Newt Gingrich, and Michelle Bachman apparently conjure up the winning concept about this author. But I see little in common among the three, and no clear connection with Prell’s work.  I thus conclude that it’s the conservative shotgun approach- hit as much of the conservative spectrum as possible with one blast.

Personally, I liked the Darth Vader approach to selling VWs.
