hehehe:D Nice.... Hey, how about having:
[1] the Text in black, or
[2] the background white(instead of colour), and the text in colour?

I think we should try out these 2 options too, and then choose from the best.

Hi,
Nice work. however, I see a few quirks.
[Image-1] Rght clipping in too much.
[Image-2] Right clipping is really too much + the letters are not properly edged out. See the top of the 2nd D. You'll see some black marking. Also, the B's curves have some black stuff on the right. IMHO the problem arises because we are trying to replace colours using the fill tool. It doesn't change the hues too.

Hmm ... edited them in vector format. If no one has a problem with the
form, only the colors remain to be decided.

The letters are now properly aligned, all the gradients too, match in
luminosity. If this logo is `standard', I guess everything in it
should be too.

The cables look a bit dark, IMHO. Any other changes desired?

Changes in this version:
1) The outer gradients of the monitors are a bit lighter ... I want to
give them a Macish feel ;)
2) The colour of the border of the picture screen now matches the hue
3) The cable is lighter, and the horizontal cable extends from the
left edge of the leftest monitor to the right edge of the rightmost
monitor. It is also a *bit* thinner.

colors are a bit dark. I guess this is due to using black or a very dark shade in the gradiants... Brighter colours would make it more lively.

Yes, that's true. But[there's always a but where u don't want it to be :P] brighter colours would make it look a bit Googlish.

hehehe:D gr8 work!!!!
However, will there be any loss in accuracy if I scale it down? I mean the image is large, and probably length/2 & width/2(approx.) would be fine for online display purposes. Or maybe you could generate a scaled down .png which would not result in any loss on accuracy????

There are still some issues ...
1) What colours to use? Does anyone have his favourite colour?
2) The 3D logo looks empty ... in the sense, there is a lot of gap
between the nodes ...
3) The sizes of the nodes are not really in proportion to their
distance from the origin ... does anyone have issues with that?
3) Should "The Distributed DataBase" be written in the logo?

There are still some issues ...
1) What colours to use? Does anyone have his favourite colour?

I have no qualms with the color scheme.

2) The 3D logo looks empty ... in the sense, there is a lot of gap
between the nodes ...

Yes, but as I think more about and stare more at the logo, it looks good this way. However, I noticed that the links are lighter in this version than in the previous (27k) version. IMHO, that looked better.

3) The sizes of the nodes are not really in proportion to their
distance from the origin ... does anyone have issues with that?

Yes, but I guess no one would sit and measure it :{

4) Should "The Distributed DataBase" be written in the logo?

I don't think so. If you see other logos, they don't explicitly mention what they stand for. People are supposed to associate the logo with the application.

Once the logo is finalized, I'll create a decent Home page and then upload it to the sf.net site so that people can access it through: tddb.sf.net

It was due to the scaling ... thinner == lighter to our eyes.
Hopefully, this one isn't an eyesore ;)

The PC's are also better placed, I hope. There was a lot of gap
between 'T' and 'D' earlier.
