Subject: [NCD AFS] FW: MRBP Most Troublesome AIS List
All,
The Mississippi River Basin Panel on Aquatic Invasive Species (MRBP), a regional panel of the national Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) Task Force, recently updated their list of "Most Troublesome Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) in the Mississippi River Basin" (see attached). This list represents species of high concern identified by panel members in the MRB. There are 17 fish, 17 aquatic plants, 8 mollusks, and 6 crustaceans on the list. As a MRBP panel member, I want to share this list with the North Central Division AFS members. The purpose of sharing this list is to increase awareness of AIS of greatest concern within the MRB to help guide and support discussions/decisions regarding the need and prioritization of research, prevention, monitoring and control.
Let me know if you have any questions. Here is a link to learn more about the MRBP: https://mrbp.org/.
