HackU sessions like these have been conducted all over the world.
Some of Yahoo!'s top programmers will be giving talks on hacking and
cool things you can do with their APIs (and with web technologies in
general), followed by a hands-on hacking session where innovative
ideas need to take shape. Yahoo! takes care of providing food and
coffee ;-). There are some prizes up for grabs (IPods and internships
to name a few).
The focus of the event is on getting a working prototype of a cool
idea (as opposed to optimising existing implementations or a
full-fledged product). Participants do not need to use Yahoo!'s APIs,
but that's certainly appreciated.
You can register here: http://bangalore.yahoo.com/hacku/register.php
(There's a lucky draw for registered participants so do sign up ASAP).
