I set the alarm off this morning and there are no instructions I could find to turn it off?  Is this posted somewhere?

Michael,

Please attend a New Member orientation - which is held every First Friday of the Month at 7pm for instructions.

Thank you

Are there written instructions around for those of us who have been around for a while but don't routinely deal with the alarm?

Writing the instructions on the alarm control panel or in a publicly accessible location would defeat the purpose of the alarm as anyone could shut it off.

That makes sense.  There must be other options, though, besides "hey, here's how to disable this alarm thing" posted by the alarm.

I apologize, my first response was really quick and hurried...he is a little longer spiel on this.

1) Publicly posting the alarm code or instructions makes having an alarm code pointless (You do not need to be a member to access these forms, or walk into the building during open house nights).  At some point, our website may have a member's only area that you'll need to log into...I'll discuss with our IT folks if we can lock down a document that has the code in that area.

2) If you have not attended a New Member Orientation, or a wood shop orientation in the last two years - I'd highly recommend that you come to one .  They are held every first friday of the month (Which is this week Friday) at 7 pm & 8pm.

There have been a ton of changes in the last two years...if you haven't made it into the shop a lot, going to an orientation will give you a heads up on new policies and expectations of the organization.

If you need the code urgently - I'd suggest emailing Membe...@TCMaker.org.  They can confirm that you are an active member and give you the code if needed.

This has happened before and i was thinkingbthat there must be some sort of system where membership could be verified via sms and the code sent or something else.  I was night owl and the last time i set it off years ago was 3am... Thankfully Jude was there 15 minutes later and reset it..

I currently lack the skill for this but might be willing to try in a month or so if there is interest..

Because writing the code on a piece of paper is too hard? ;)

Joe, happy to take care of the writing as you suggest. It would be nice if there was a way to get the code without an hour time commitment on my part. Is there one?

Come by any Wednesday evening and ask Brandon P or Scott H, they are both usually there that evening.  They can verify your membership status and let you know what the code is.
