Speaker Bios:

Dr. Xiaoya (Sara) Ding is an assistant professor of finance in the School of Management at the University of San Francisco. She received her PhD in finance from Queen's University in Canada. Her research interests are primarily in international finance, empirical corporate finance, and empirical asset pricing. Her work has been published in highly ranked peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Empirical Finance, and Journal of Portfolio Management and presented at numerous finance conferences and seminars in North America, Europe, and Asia. She is the recipient of best-paper awards at the Asian Finance Association Conference and China Goes Global Conference. Dr. Ding primarily teaches foreign currency risk management and financial decision making in multinational firms.

Mr. Kevin Lin was an investment researcher and model manager at BlackRock's Model Portfolio Solution teamfrom 2013 to 2016. His team's mission was to deliver systematic asset allocation expertise to retail market through financial advisors. Before 2013, Kevin was a fixed income investment strategist at BlackRock's fundamental fixed income team, delivering fixed income market and product commentary to key clients. From 2007 to 2011, Kevin worked for BlackRock institutional investment and risk management system. Kevinobtained his BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from University of Washington and UCLA, his MS in Finance from MIT Sloan School of Management.
