China has been a pioneer in FinTech with new business models and fast-growing companies in recent years. What are the innovations? Which area has been disrupted? What is happening now in Chinese FinTech industry? Where will the industry leads? Join us on June 7th to hear the answers and understand the landscape and trends of Financial Technology industry from a Chinese FinTech companyfounder and long-time asset manager.
A panel of US asset managers will join the discussion, draw a comparison between US and China, and provide insight into the booming industry.

Speaker Bios:
Dr. Jim Wang is the CEO and founder of DataYes Inc, a Chinese FinTech company based in Shanghai and San Jose, Jim has 20 years of experience in asset management and financial technology at various financial institutes including Bosera Asset Management Co, Barclays Gloal Investor (now BlackRock) and Bloomberg. Jim was the General Manager of Equity Dept, CIO of Quantitative Investment at Bosera Asset Management Co. and Senior Research Officer/Portfolio Manager at Barclays Global Investors. Jim received his PhD in Physics from Princeton University and did his post-doc at Harvard University.
Dr Yuying Gao is a portfolio manager of Nipun Capital--one of the leading quantitative hedge funds focusing on Asia and emerging markets equities. Dr Gao is responsible for managing and developing Nipun Emerging Market Fund. Prior to Nipun, she was a senior researcher in BlackRock for 8 years, she is responsible for developing quantitative strategies in equities and credits for a 6 billion systematic hedge fund. Dr Gao received her PhD in electrical engineering from UC Riverside and she is also a CFA charter holder. Dr. Gao also chairs the TCFA CA chapter.
Chris Yao is the Co-head of Active Equity Research at Mellon Capital Management in San Francisco. In his current role, he is responsible for the entire active equity stock selection research process and is primarily focused on global developed and emerging markets. Chris has been with Mellon Capital over 10 years. Prior to his current role, he was a VP and Sr. Research Analyst in Active Equity Research. Before joining Mellon Capital, he was a Research Analyst at Starmine (now part of Thomson Reuters). He was one of a few behind many Starmine commercialized proprietary stock selection models. Chris graduated from U. of Illinois, Urbana and Champaign with an MBA degree. He is also a CFA charter holder.
Cindy Wang is the Founding Partner of Phaenomena West Capital, investing in late stage and growth technology companies. Prior to founding Phaenomena West, she worked as Managing Director at TerraNova Capital Partners and Woodside Capital Partners specialized in M&A transactions; she also worked at ThinkEquity Partners and WR Hambrecht Co. as an investment banker. Previously she worked at Oracle as a software development manager managing an engineering team. Ms. Wang served as EVP with The Chinese Finance Association (TCFA) in the past and now co-chairs TCFA California chapter. She is an active speaker at many conferences and professional organizations including Women-In- Leadership, Berkeley China Forum, TCFA, and HYSTA. Ms. Wang holds MBA from Haas School of UC Berkeley and M.S in Computer Science, New Mexico State University.
