The College Hockey Fair is sponsored by the Washington Capitals, USA Hockey, the Potomac Valley Amateur Hockey Association (PVAHA) and local youth hockey organizations. This event takes place on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, VA from 1 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (627 North Glebe Rd. Arlington, VA 22203).
We currently have 26 collegiate programs committed to attend including: US Naval Academy, Mercyhurst University, Cornell, Oswego, Neumann, American University Women, Maryland Lady Terps, Northern Virginia Community College, William and Mary, Richmond, Catholic, Radford, James Madison, University of Miami, Christopher Newport, American University, East Carolina, Old Dominion, Southern Connecticut State, Salisbury, Virginia Commonwealth, George Mason, California University of Pennsylvania, Penn State Brandywine, University of Maryland, and George Washington University.
The Washington Capitals College Hockey Fair provides an opportunity for young hockey players and their parents in the PVAHA area to meet and gain valuable insight from coaches from both the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA).
Some highlights of the event include:
Keynote presentations from a Division I varsity coach, Washington Capitals alumni and scouting personnel, and an ACHA administrator.
Panel sessions with NCAA and ACHA coaches and other hockey executives discussing varsity and club programs.
Admission, financial aid, and NCAA compliance guidelines will also be discussed by university officials.
Video presentations which provide an overview of the player’s perspective on college hockey.
