Session: Over the past few years, many high profile sites have stopped using traditional relational databases like SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL, using alternatives that all fall under the term "NoSQL". This presentation covers how NoSQL products work differently than RDBMS's and the differences between the varieties within that designation. We'll cover the pros and cons of NoSQL vs RDBMS solutions and a few starting points for where to start experimenting with NoSQL for your next project.

Speaker: J Wynia is a software consultant, writer and geek generalist. He's been in the professional geek business since the late 90's and worked in a wide variety of technologies and programming languages. When he's not working on client projects, he enjoys playing traditional Irish music, cooking and barbecuing and brewing his own hard cider.

The Twin Cities Developers Guild is sponsored by Magenic, Microsoft, Ineta, Benchmark Learning and Agilevent.
