BCIS in Core Curriculum

Instructional administrators -

 

If your institution has submitted BCIS 1305/1405 in either the F14 or F15 core curriculum and had it approved by THECB, would you be willing to share your supporting documentation (syllabus, course learning outcomes, etc.) that was submitted to THECB?  I am very interested to review what other institutions are doing with regards to including BCIS 1305/1405 as a core course.

[Carol Hanes]

Navarro College submitted and was allowed to have COSC 1301 as part of the core.  They allowed 1401 as well, with the additional hour as part of the degree plans rather than as part of the core.  It is part of our CAO 6 hours.

They are listed under the CAO for our core.

McLennan also has BCIS 1305 and COSC 1301 in the Core under CAO under the Communications Core Objective. We will be glad to share though the emphasis was on communications to include presentation and written reports using software and technology.
