Hi everyone, thanks Kelly Taylor for pointing out that it's teacher appreciation this week!

Please consider how you and your student can let Mrs. Garza know how much you appreciate her! When asked, she said a couple of her favorite things are Starbucks and Amazon.

We can flood her inbox with thank you notes, eCards, kids can record thank you videos to send her.

Does anyone have any creative quarantine teacher appreciation ideas? Where's Angie?! 😁

Barb shared her address if anyone wants to use snail mail. But now that we have it...maybe sidewalk chalk art, orchestrate a drive by gratitude parade, post signs in her yard???? I saw on Nextdoor a free service where a family will go at night and put a bunch of plastic pink flamingos in the yard with a sign that says "you've been flocked!" I can see if they have availability this week.

Just wanted to get this message out so you can move forward with any ideas you have as a family, I will get back in touch with any gesture we might to do on behalf of the whole class. Also, feel free to reach out if you want to do something in cahoots! 760-505-9975

Hi again, fun update - the flamingos are available for this Monday! I've attached a picture of what it looks like. And it's FREE! It's a local realtor husband-wife team and their kids. They are doing it free for birthdays during quarantine or any other reason to spread a little flamingo fun and joy!

I'm waiting to hear back from them regarding what time they'll be done (I believe it's the night before but could be early morning), and what time they'll need to remove them. Once I get that info, I'll be back in touch to suggest a time that we could (socially distanced & wearing masks) meet and have the kids stand out in front of her house holding up their signs and yelling "surprise" or "thank you" or such. I've already sent her a message asking what morning window of time would she be home for a no-contact surprise on Monday. I can also bring a couple of glass vases that we can set out and each kid can take a turn adding their hand-picked varieties to them.

Get your creative juices flowing as to how we might celebrate graduation within the new limitations as well!

Ok folks, we can gather (safely, distanced, masked) in front of Mrs. Garza's house on Monday at either Noon or 3 p.m. Her yard will get a flock of flamingos late Sunday night through late Monday night. :) Whichever time works best for the majority, I'll send the update with time once I here back from most of you. In the meantime, have fun making your poster!
