The City of East Lansing is seeking local stakeholder input to update the City’s Non-Motorized Transportation Plan (NMTP). Input from stakeholders who understand and participate in non-motorized transportation is key to developing and implementing the Plan. Please join us virtually on June 8th at 3:30 PM for a short presentation and discussion led by the City’s consulting firm, MKSK. The meeting will discuss priority areas to consider for non-motorized improvements and potential connections to adjacent communities. You are also encouraged fill out the survey and the interactive map if you have a chance before the meeting.

BACKGROUND: The NMTP was first created in the spring of 2011. At the beginning of 2023, the City sent out a Request for Proposals to update the Plan, and in February of this year MKSK was selected. The goal is for the Plan to become a framework for the city to use when evaluating future budget prioritization, updates, or improvements. The essential purpose of the proposed project is to ensure that the City of East Lansing will be able to evaluate and continue to develop a comprehensive non-motorized transportation system that meets the needs of the residents and integrates the city within and to the surrounding area.
