Subject: Protected Bike Infrastructure on Michigan Ave Contact List
Hello All!
Thank you all again for attending our first meeting this past Wednesday to start our community advocacy efforts for protected bicycle infrastructure on Michigan Avenue from Campus to the Capitol.
I've attached the contact sheet in CSV format to this email. CSVs are great because they can be imported into most contact programs easily. The file "MIAve Contact Sheet.csv" is the most human readable version, and should work with most programs. I did have some issues importing into google/gmail contacts, so I've also included the file "google-contacts.csv" specifically for importing to contacts.google.com. If you need any help using the CSV file, please feel free to let me know and I will do my best to help.
I've also created a Discord server for us to use and share resources. If anybody would like to help moderate, please let me know. You can join the discord server for our group at the below link, The server icon is of a protected intersection
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, August 3rd from 6-7PM at Foster Community Center Room 109 (Room subject to change, I've asked for a room with a computer projector if available) where we will discuss our vision for protected bike infrastructure on Michigan Ave and unify behind a vision. If you have any visual aids, that would be appreciated and you can share them in the discord. Please be sure to think of MI Ave in different sections. Downtown (Capitol to Cedar), Stadium (Cedar to Pennsylvania), Sparrow (Pennsylvania to Holmes), Eastside (Holmes - 127), Frandor (127 to Harrison), MSU (Harrison to Grand River). Our goal for this meeting will be to unify behind a vision for the avenue so we can start preparing for community input meetings held by the city and tri-county area. I would also like to try and establish a name and ideal domain name so we can start building our online presence.
Please feel free to reach out to me by email or in discord if you have any questions or concerns before our next meeting.
Thanks again for everyone's involvement and dedication to being a positive change in our community!
