The draft plan of the drop off and bike lane reconfiguration will be brought to the transportation commission meeting on October 3, 2022. The information was brought to City Council as a request from the Mayor.

 

City staff has been working with the Newman Loft residents through the Seniors Commission and Age-Friendly Community Steering Committee to look for creative solutions to accommodate the drop off request in a manner that is fair, safe, and equitable.

As you know, a Transportation Commissioner and a representation of the Tri-County Bicycle Association came to Council yesterday to ask that the Transportation Commission be consulted on the redesign of Albert aimed at creating a drop-off/pick-up spot. 

 

What are the plans at this point — will it go to the Transportation Commission, or is the plan to proceed with the existing design?

 

Can you also comment on why Transportation Commission was not consulted before this came to Council?

 

Anything else on this topic we should be reporting?
