I'm trying to create a simple hangman game in Python. I've come quite far for a beginner I guess :) The only thing I can't accomplish is checking wether the word is actually guessed. I need to check if all the letters are actually in a list I've created, yet I'm not sure how. I do realise there was a topic regarding this, this didn't help me tho.

During the past 30 years various treatment protocols for hangman's fractures have been attempted. In order to guide the management of hangman's fractures, different classifications have been introduced. However, opinions on operative or nonoperative treatment have not yet been solidified. To evaluate both conservative and operative management of hangman's fractures in the published literature and to provide appropriate guidelines for treatment of hangman's fractures, a systematic review of the literature regarding the management of hangman's fractures was performed. An English literature search from January 1966 to January 2004 was completed with reference to treatment of hangman's fractures. The classification for treatment guidance from the literature was also reviewed. Regarding a primary therapy for hangman's fractures, there were 20 papers (62.5%) that advocated for a conservative treatment and 11 of the remaining 12 papers suggested that conservative treatment was suitable for some stable fractures. The classification of Effendi et al. modified by Levine and Edwards was used widely. Most hangman's fractures could be managed successfully with traction and external immobilization, especially in Effendi Type I, Type II and Levine-Edwards Type II fractures. It is necessary for Levine-Edwards Type IIa and III fractures to be treated with rigid immobilization. Only for some stable Type I and Levine-Edwards Type II injuries, nonrigid external fixation alone was sufficient. Rigid immobilization alone was necessary for most cases. Surgical stabilization is recommended in unstable cases when there is the possibility of later instability, such as Levine-Edwards Type IIa and III fractures with significant dislocation. The classification system proposed by Effendi et al. and modified by Levine and Edwards provided a clinically reasonable guideline for successful management of hangman's fractures.

I've got as far as 'drawing' a hangman using Icons, presenting the User with the letters from the alphabet and then using a Find to determine if their selection is in the word or not and removing the selected letter from the collection if it isn't in the definition.

I've set all of the Hangmans icons to not visible and set an IncorrectLetters count when a letter isn''t in the definition. Then I am using that on each part of the hangman with an If statement to show when the counter increments.

Then the Input window appears (repeatedly) and asks user the letter they want to guess next. If guessed incorrectly, the hangman body will appear piece by piece; however if I guess the letter correctly, no body pieces are added (which is good), but no letter is placed anywhere (which is not good). Here is a sample of a head being produced on a missed letter. It would be ideal to somehow produce $\ ,\_, ,\_, ,\_, ,\_, ,\_, \$ near the hangman character, but I don't know if that's possible.

In addition, there are 3 hangman plots that generate simultaneously with this code, when I obviously want only 1. I'm also looking for a way to print each letter in the right place. For an example, "E" would be placed as _ E _ for the word red. And once that letter is used there is no way to use it again. I feel like people will wish to close this because it is more so a personal matter and I don't know if it could help a lot of others, but the usage of loops and many other useful commands is presented throughout this task. Lastly, instead of the "what letter would you like to guess" Input window, I was trying to create a palette/button menu where a user could push those instead. I just need some help and understand this is quite lengthy but I have supplied all that I can figure out thus far, in this "somewhat" created game of hangman.

Thanks for any advice or help, and I will try my best to supply any explanations if anyone has questions. I know I asked a few questions, but at this point I don't have anyone to really help me out. There is hangman games done in Mathematica on the "Wolfram Demonstration" site, but I don't want to copy those, I've used a few as references though.

At the college we often use hangman style games to reinforce vocabulary etc. I have produced a version using php running off a text file but given the demand for the tool and that lecturers want to assemble their own word/clue lists on the fly with students I am intending to port to a mySQL backend.

Basically the next step is to create a web page which will allow tutors and students to create their own word lists. We are just about ot be inspected (10th Nov) so the paper avalanche from our management team is threatening to swamp my desk, hence the hangman game is not top priority but most of the work is done on the improved version, which has undergone some major code refactoring to reduce thes paghetti (just some bugs to squish ).

Once I have fixed this issues I will then need to validate the data submitted. Where would the validate/db update code go? I can see a reference to function 'insert-record' in the 'hangman_add_instance' function in lib.php. Is this function already written or is this for me to write? Would this be where the validate/db insert stuff goes?

Hangman is a stick figure that was created by accident after the Stick Gang lost a game of hangman. As the Stick Gang made mistake after mistake, first Hangman's head was drawn, then his arms, and lastly his legs.
