I recently received the bad news that the Sustainable Ag Program at M State in Fergus Falls, Minnesota is going to be canceled. They need an immediate inundation of emails to save this vital program! From their Facebook page:
------------------------------
The administration of M State Fergus Falls contacted the Sustainable Food Production program directors last week to inform them that they plan to discontinue the program after this year. This decision came without any discussion with the program directors or any review of the program (which is in its third year) with those responsible for it. The SFP program teaches students about producing and marketing sustainable healthy food with an emphasis on holistic learning so students get a lot of hands-on experience as well as learning theories, science and ideas. Students, graduates and instructors have brought their learning to their jobs (many starting their own businesses, to their families, and to their communities. We would like to see this program continue, and want to let the decision-makers at Minnesota State Community and Technical Colleges know how valuable this program is and that we want them to reinstate it.Please contact decision makers at M State Fergus Falls to tell them how valuable the Sustainable Food Production program is and to ask them to reinstate it.
Decision makers to contact include:

Dr. Kathy Brock, CAO of MSCTC
1900 28th Ave. S
Moorhead, MN 56560
Kathy...@minnesota.edu

Dr. Peggy Kennedy, President of MSCTC Fergus Falls
1414 College Way
Fergus Falls, MN 56537
Peggy....@minnesota.edu

Carrie Brimhall, Associate Vice President of MSCTC Fergus Falls
1414 College Way
Fergus Falls, MN 56537
Carrie.brimhall@minnesota.edu
-------------------------

If you want to show the program director your support, and give her proof as she talks with administrators, please feel free to forward your letters to her, too. Her email address is Sue....@minnesota.edu

From what I heard, the main argument is that graduates are "not employable." Messages addressing this would be especially helpful.

Be Well,
