This is a remarkable film, sold out at two screenings in Toronto several months ago. It should be shown in secondary schools and universities.
It's about the US military and its effects on climate.

Please circulate to all your networks. Thanks, Ronny

Subject: EARTH'S GREATEST ENEMY screening @ The Redwood Theatre, May 10

Tickets on sale NOW for Abby Martin's new film

Hi Ronny,

Spewing millions of tons of carbon, contaminating water, and scarring landscapes across the globe, the world's single largest institutional polluter — the U.S. military — is exempt from international climate agreements and rarely scrutinized in mainstream reporting. Earth's Greatest Enemy, the second feature film by Abby Martin, combines investigative journalism, striking visuals, and stories from impacted communities to challenges audiences to rethink the hidden costs of a global military empire and its devastating planetary consequences.

Please join us on Sunday, May 10th at 6 p.m. for a special Mother's Day screening – one that calls us to unite the movement for climate justice with the struggle against the forces of imperialism, colonialism, militarism, fascism and genocide, all in the name of defending Mother Earth. Provocative, urgent, and eye-opening, this film will change how you see both militarism and environmentalism — and the politicians who serve one while claiming to fight for the other, including Canada’s own Liberal party.

Mark Carney arrived in office wrapped in the language of climate leadership and has spent every month since dismantling it, pouring a historic $81.8 billion into military rearmament. Julie Dabrusin, our very own Toronto-Danforth Liberal MP, and Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Nature, recently voted NO on NDP Jenny Kwan's Bill C-233 to close the export loophole, which is allowing Canada to violate international law by supplying Israel's genocide in Gaza and Trump's devastating war on Iran.

This screening is our invitation to our Toronto family and East End neighbours to gather and learn how we can fight back. After the film, we will be joined by special guest speakers. There will be a bake sale offering sweet and savoury treats, as well as keffiyehs and other items. The venue offers bar service. We'll be hosting another edition of our popular ART RAFFLE featuring the beautiful work of artist/designer/author, Michael DeForge !

All proceeds from tickets and the bake sale will be donated to grassroots climate justice work by Scarborough Environmental Association, mutual aid for families in Gaza, the Toronto Community Justice Fund, and East End Acts. East End Acts for Palestine is a grassroots solidarity group made of community members from the Toronto-Danforth & Beaches-East York neighbourhoods, mobilizing to create political and social change.

Please bring one non-perishable food item to contribute to Community Fridges in the East End.

If there is a financial barrier to purchasing a ticket, please email us at easte...@gmail.com

See you there!
