Hello all,

Included in the lead article is a joint letter to federal Environment Minister, Julie Dabrusin. You can read it here https://naturecanada.ca/news/blog/over-100-nature-organizations-call-for-renewed-funding-to-help-save-bird-lives/.

A few signatories to the letter focus on the elimination of pesticides as a measure to protect avian species - and all life. Given how deadly these toxins are makes the federal government's roll back of pesticide laws seem so unconscionable! Please consider signing this petition to hold the potential poisoners in check: https://ecojustice.ca/take-action/stop-the-gutting-of-canadas-pesticide-laws/.

Following that article are an exposé of Carney's New Proposals [that] Threaten to Undermine Canada’s Historic $3.8 Billion Nature Investment, and an invitation to participate in a webinar with Steven Guilbeault on June 2nd.

Please share. Thanks!

Jay

A Disarming, Charming Bird

Dear Jay,

In 2023, Meredith Blunt set out to draw every bird species recorded in Waterloo Region, starting with the American Goldfinch. "I wanted people to see goldfinches the way I see them," she writes. Enjoy Meredith's artistic appreciation of the bird she calls "a wonder of transformation."

Thank you so much for your generosity. Everyone at Nature Canada and our partners all across the nation applaud your trust and dedication! We couldn’t do this without you.
