Hello TCAN Friends,
I am writing to invite you to attend an Earth Day lobby event at Queen's Park on April 22nd, 7:30 - 9:00 am. Enjoy a breakfast, hear from speakers, connect with your MPP, and make it clear that the majority of Ontarians want action on the climate crisis.
Read on below for more information from OCEC and CAPE Ontario. I look forward to seeing many of you there!

This April 22 celebrate Earth Day by making it count! Join a Queens Park MPP breakfast reception and province-wide action calling on the Government of Ontario to bring back a strong, evidence and target-based provincial climate plan.
With co-hosts CAPE Ontario and OCEC (Ontario Climate Emergency Campaign), we will be calling on MPPs to support a climate plan that advances public health, energy affordability and sovereignty, Indigenous rights, and secures a liveable future for young people and future generations.
Here’s how to participate:
1. To attend the Queen's Park breakfast reception, please complete this registration form.
2. Invite your MPP to the breakfast reception – and request a meeting with them.
Select one of the following options.
a. Invite your MPP to attend the breakfast reception and request a meeting with them at the reception using this template letter (Version 1).
(Please note: if we approach capacity, attendance may be limited to constituents who’ve secured the attendance of their own MPP at the lobby breakfast)
b. Invite your MPP to attend the breakfast reception and request a meeting with them at their constituency office at another time, using this template letter (use Version 2.)
c. If you are unable to attend the Queen's Park Breakfast reception or meet with your MPP, you can still invite your MPP to attend the reception using this template letter (Version 3)
Let’s get as many MPPs attending the reception as possible!
Never met with an elected official before? Don’t worry! Supporting materials will be available including:
1. A Backgrounder of talking points for you to discuss with your MPPs will be shared with all who register.
2. MPP information materials will be sent by the organizers to all MPPs and also shared with you for your reference.
3. Virtual training session(s) on “How to lobby your MPP” will be available to registrants from 7:30-9 PM Tuesday April 14 and/or 11 AM - 12:30 PM Friday April 17 (two sessions subject to sufficient registrants both dates - indicate your preference on the Registration form). A recording will also be shared but attending the online session will be most valuable.
