發音教學是國小學生進入英語學習重要的基礎，有一首歌曲相當實用，輕快的發音歌曲，學生唱完可以將26個字母音(Letter sound)學好喔!

    「不會發音」幾乎是每位英語學習落後者的共通點，看到單字不會唸，造成預習與複習困難。因此，教師可於每堂課前帶讀Phonics發音規則作為課前暖身，希望藉由這個常態性的暖身活動強化學生字母名、字母形，字母音的讀寫能力，幫助他們能「見字讀音decoding」，甚至「聽音拼字encoding」。

    語言學習不僅止仰賴視覺與聽覺.面對年幼學童.教師可運用TPR(Total Physical Response)教學法,結合身體律動與字母音(letter sound),字母名(letter name)與字母形(letter form)教學,提供學生另一個可依循的記憶法,並增添學習樂趣.

  可採用一系列Phonics的相關繪本或小書(紙本或多媒體形式)帶領學生學習發音，繼而提升學生的閱讀能力。

Phonics deals with the correspondences between English letters and sounds. The students having difficulties pronouncing words or reading sentences need to improve the English alphabet and phonics skills. To strengthen the relationship between the letters and sounds, I highly recommend the instruction of phonemic awareness. Phonemic awareness is the ability of recognizing and playing with the oral sounds. The teacher may design simple oral activities to train the student's listening to oral sounds, such as, matching pictures with beginning sounds or oddity tasks. For example, the teacher may ask the class, "I'll say three words. Two of the words have the same beginning sound. One word has a different sound. Number 1 ball. Number 2 dog. Number 3 box. Listen again. Which word is the odd one?"

I also make use of mother goose songs or chants to build up the student's phonics and spelling skills. I like to make gap-fill worksheets and have my students fill in beginning letters or words after the instruction of a song or chant is done. I think that songs and chants are great for mapping letters and sounds in the context, and they can really increase the student's listening comprehension as well as their cultural knowledge through reading the lyrics and singing. 1.先要有個概念:字母拼讀法只是國小英語教學˙的一個方法,它不是唯一的方法,也不是最好的方法;只要學生會拼讀英語單字,有時候不要太執著它是用哪一個方法學.更不要糾正學生用字母教學法學習(用注音符號學習法也可以唷)

2.接著要了解:Phonics要學生達到的三個層次:1.聽音辨字;2.見字讀音3.聽音拼字.

3.所以,教師在教單字發音時要有onset+rhyme的概念,如:cat, 可以先讓學生"拆解"onset (c)和rhyme (-at),然後學生掌握到at的發音後,前面的onset就可以任意更換了,如:bat, cat, fat, hat, mat, pat, rat, vat...,然後, minimum pair就可以操作了~~

4.Phonics無法解決的情況:有的老師會說是phonics的exemptions,但其實不是例外,如:great, koala...

5.提供足夠的listening inputs,網站或phonics讀本有許多資源可參考~~
