All,

Blue Mountain Rocketeers is bringing its official season to a grand finale this weekend in Dayton: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Typically the biggest launch of the season, this launch will offer multiple flights of Very. Big. Motors, an onsite rocket vendor, an onsite food vendor, a raffle, night launches on Friday and Saturday, and more. Many folks come from Spokane, westside, and further because of the high quality of BMR's launches.

Come see the only (to our knowledge) youth-led National Association of Rocketry section in action! I am biased because my children are officers, but I have seen how much they have learned and grown through involvement in this club. This club is well worth the drive. It normally takes about an hour and a half from Tri-Cities, or a bit less if you are in East Pasco or Burbank.

We offer free camping for both RVs and tents. If you want to commute, the best day to come is Saturday. Launching will commence at 9am each day.

Here are some pages that provide more information:

Here are some tips for enjoying the launch:

1. Be prepared for rugged, outdoorsy conditions. The field is uneven. Please wear comfortable shoes (probably not for flip-flops). Wear layers, since the weather can often be cooler than Tri-Cities, or even just completely different than Tri-Cities! Bring camp chairs to sit in, and possibly a shade canopy, although others are very willing to share. We do have an onsite port-a-potty.

2. Bring food and water. If the weather is sunny, please bring extra water. Basic hamburger/hotdog fare is also available onsite--our food vendor is reasonably priced and offers tasty stuff. Food options are also available about five minutes away in Dayton proper.

3. Come prepared to participate! We have rockets to lend, and we also have some motors to lend. Or, buy from our reasonably priced onsite vendor. Rockets are more fun when you participate. However, you certainly may also observe ; ).

Thanks,
Sherrill Fink
