Initiation Meetings are this Week

Hey guys,

Just a reminder that the 2nd Initiation Meetings this week at 7:30 on Wednesday and Thursday in Towne 100. Please respond letting me know whether or not you can make it.

Steven - can you please order food? We'll have about 23 people each day, and David said that you could take $50 from his budget.

Jonathan, Spencer, and Elissa - can you guys please come up with a game or activity to do for 20 minutes of the meeting? It doesn't have to be super complicated - we just need to fill the time.

I'll be at both meetings - I'm working on a trivia game thing, will we have a projector?  I figure I put questions up and assign them points at random, split the room into teams and they can solve them and stuff.  Logic puzzles, engineering trivia, etc.  I have a bunch of it, and I'll put it all into a ppt.  If you have ideas for questions let me know - right now I have logic puzzles, SEAS acronyms, E-Quad building trivia and general SEAS trivial as categories.

We're in Towne 100, so we should have a projector. 

Also, I think I mentioned this, but plan for the game to be ~30 minutes. We'll save 15 minutes for Bent polishing and 15 minutes for catalogue card filling out online. That ok?

Yes - the game can go on as long or short as it needs to, assuming we dont run out of questions.  It will just go until time is called, and then that's it and we'll start over with the other group.  I'll work on the ppt - I can send you a draft of it tonight but it probably won't be polished until Wednesday afternoon, I can bring it on a flash drive.

Also, I thought we did the game in two rounds while half the group polished the bent.  Are we changing that structure?

True - there are 2 options:

1)

7:30-7:45: Catalogue cards

7:45-8:05: Group 1 game, group 2 Bent

8:05-8:25: Group 2 game, group 1 Bent

or

2)

7:30-7:45: Catalogue cards

7:45-8:15: All game

8:15-8:30: All Bent

Which is better?

I think 23 people all trying to polish the bent at once will be a train wreck - we should do two groups at least.

Very true. Ok lets do 2 groups then - any more and it'll be confusing and too short.
