Gamarjobat!

A group of residents of Tbilisi have gotten together to form a physical space where people can make things; we haven't found a space yet and are just starting the structure of the organization. People from many nations, and many fields - designers, programmers, engineers, artists, crafts-people, and anybody else who makes things can meet there, and form groups to build things and explore new concepts.

At 8pm Tuesday 28 February 2012 an introductory English language discussion will be held at the Gallery Cafe.

Our plans are basic, unformed and preliminary. We want to propose them, hear what you think and brainstorm. Please come and bring an interested friend. It will last about an hour and a half.

It will be fun, only the first part will be brief and mainly small group brain storming, the second part will be social.

Below you will find DRAFT VERSIONS of our Ethos and Rules:

The Ethos

TMS is a place where people meet to make things.
These things can be anything; an object, an exhibition, an app.
They can be for profit, or non-profit, tangible or digital, short or enduring.
We are a community of mutual support and respect.
We are international and we work across disciplines.
We are open and don't worry about who owns what and who gets credit.
We are positive and help each other.
New and different ideas and methods are encouraged and welcome.
We work hard.
We follow the rules.
We all work on projects.
We all support TMS in small and big ways.
We are peaceful, tolerant, and curious.
We listen, learn, and create.

The Rules

Everybody is welcome.
There is a host who greets every visitor, answers questions, explains the system and makes introductions.
People can come for two months without joining. After two months, join.
Each week at six thirty pm on Tuesday, there is a meeting where, after quick updates on ongoing projects, people propose new project ideas. At that meeting others present can commit to work on new projects.
Each project must have at least three people working on it. They must be from at least two nations, and from at least two sectoral backgrounds.
Every month on Tuesday at nine pm there is a formal meeting of members to discuss management, administration, and new membership.
When a member is accepted s/he pays thirty lari per month (15 if s/he doesn't live in Tbilisi or for other social reasons).
When there are more than thirty members, then there is a board of twelve elected, with a one year term, that will elect a chair and can amend this document and make all policy decisions.
No smoking, no alcohol.
Events, collectives, classes, lectures are open to all.
