I would first like to say that your platform looks great.

I noticed you put a lot of stuff on GIT but I cannot find any source code.  Do you guys plan to make this platform open source?  If not whats the point of putting it on Git?

Thanks and keep up the good work!

Hello Brian!

Thank you.

tbg-Quant is free but it is not open source.
In the https://github.com/asfolcini/tbg-quant-strategy-development repository you can find some strategy source code example, you can clone it and start your own coding.
We discussed to open source the core framework but, frankly speaking don't believe we will adopt it in the near future.
We are always looking to get in touch with passionate people and possible collaborators.

Where open source model has been adopted we did not see a great business advantage.
Marketcetera....   how many opensource contributors?
ActiveQuant ? more contributors but the main framework has been developed by a few people.

We have chosen to remain close source, however the software is free for everyone with educational or personal purpose. We believe this is a balanced offer :-)
In the future we might consider open source if it proves a more winning strategy.

You are welcome to share your feedback.
Thank you
Alberto
