Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Dhamma,
Namo Buddhaya!
Warmest Greetings to all of you, wishing you the Best of Health and Happiness!
How time flies and it is time again to welcome a new year. With deep gratitude, we thank you for the support given to the Theravada Buddhist Council of Malaysia (TBCM) and for your friendship and contribution in one way or another.
Together we have made TBCM a platform for unity in mission and synergy in an effort to unite and strengthen Dhamma propagation in Malaysia. There are a lot of things we need to do together to achieve such a mission. Our strength is drawn from our collective efforts, expertise and resources. We hope all our member organisations will progress collectively as a community as well as individually, led by inspiring and visionary leadership guided by the Buddha-Dhamma. We shall continue initiating leadership and management training to help nurture the necessary skills, competencies, values and spiritual insights, transforming our existing and potential leaders of the Buddhist Community to be humanistic and inspiring Dhamma Leaders with the right sense of mission.
TBCM appeals to our member organisations to think beyond our respective societies and discard our society-centred approach in Dhamma propagation efforts to instead work together as a Community so that together we grow in numbers, strength and wisdom. We appeal to our well-run member organisations to help our “weaker” member organisations to grow together. This will attract more people to participate in Buddhist programmes to learn and practise the Dhamma as well as providing them the opportunities to accumulate merits, cultivate mindfulness and grow in wisdom along the Path to the highest spiritual goal.
TBCM encourages all member organisations to increase effort in enhancing Dhamma education programmes for all devotees. Throughout history, many Buddhist centres declined into oblivion because they neglected the importance of education. Let us collaborate to provide humanistic and holistic Dhamma education with the right curriculum, contents and pedagogies to attract and inspire more to learn and practise the Dhamma.
As we bid farewell to 2015 and welcome a new year, let us help build a better world through better Dhamma education.
Once again, we thank you for your support, contributions, co-operation and friendship.
May all of you be abundantly Blessed by the Three Jewels and Wishing you a Very Happy, Healthy and Successful 2016!
With Mettā,
TBCM Exco
