As far as I understood up to now, the next major release of Thunderbird
was planned to be 59.0.

However, according to the Release Calendar [1], the next ESR release of
Firefox will be 60.0. Does this mean that the next major TB version will
be delayed to 60.0, or do we stick to 59.0?

Thanks,
-Patrick

We must follow FF ESR since only the ESR gets security fixes for about a
year.

So the next TB ESR version will be 60.

Jörg.
