Hello Everyone,

I have one user who seems to have a lot of trouble with sent messages
going to the wrong folder.

She has multiple accounts on her computer, The first account is her
primary business account, the next one is generic to the department that
she's in, and a few more are also in her profile.

Each account is set up with setting of "place a copy of the sent folder
in  the sent folder on <designated> account, each account is set up
individually.  All accounts are imap, no pop3.

She's having an issue where when she sends and email from the generic
department account, the email will not go to the generic department
account's sent folder it will go up to her primary business account's
sent folder.

Has anyone seen this kind of behavior before or know of a fix?

Christopher,

The times this has happened to me, it's always been my error but a few
things I can think of...

Is she using the Unified Folder view? She may simply be hitting reply,
expecting the email to be sent correctly but not checking what account
she's sending from. I don't use that feature specifically because I end
up sending emails from the wrong account.

Does she have an alias set up for the generic department when using the
primary business account? That can cause the email to go the primary
accounts sent folder rather then the generic account. She shouldn't use
aliases with multiple accounts as that can cause this to happen.

Also, check the Copies & Folders section of the accounts. Under the
"When sending messages, automatically:" sections, there's a checkbox for
"Place replies in the folder of the message be replied to". I don't
have mine set but I don't use Unified View, maybe it needs to be set for
that to work correctly?

Other than that, sit with her and watch how she actually sends the
email. Users don't always do what we expect them to.

Hope this helps...

She's not using Unified folder view

She did have an alias set up for the generic department.  I removed that

The "place replies in the folder of the message be replied to" is not
checked for all accounts.

I will run some tests and see if that fixes it, thanks KouroshG
:::high-five:::
