[Brief recap: We killed a frost giant, a bigger one showed up and
laid waste to us killing Kanatash, M3rick, and Bodie (although the
latter two were upgraded to "alive" when we realized that the giant's
Brilliant Energy spear couldn't hurt them) in short order. Dargon,
Tirris, and Cara were able to free the guy who was frozen in with the
portal, and he killed the last frost giant. With his blessing, we
looted the giants, escaped through the portal, were given
opportunities at retribution and revenge upon those who'd wronged us,
passed them up, and exited near Harrison's cottage. We talked to him
a bit, had to give him back most of our orb-gotten items, and were
offered other stuff in return. He had several missions to fix the
prison, one of which was to be undertaken by a single one of us,
immediately. Kanatash accepted, and was sent to drive a metal spike
through the central eye of Twillen the Abnormal, Avatar of Monsters.
Kanatash succeeded, but decided to forego fabulous prizes in exchange
for doubling the rewards that the entire party would get. We have two
weeks to decide on what we want, and if we want to undertake any of
the missions to fix the prison. We ended with us resting the night,
preparing to teleport to Cara's House in the morning.]

Okay, so we've might be going back in to try and fix the prison in two
weeks. I don't know about the rest of you, but I've got a lot that I
want to get done in that time. Since we're probably gonna be spendin'
a few days relaxin' and reaping praise at House Cannith, that'll leave
us with not a whole lotta time, so we should probably come up with a
plan or two, an' we'll probably need to split up so's everybody can do
what they wanna do.

Not really top of my "want to do" list, but somethin' I need to do, is
track down Nix. It might'a only been a dream for him, but he still
helped us out, an' I still promised that he'd be rewarded for it. I
ain't gonna back out on that. Plus, from what I know about nature
spirits, Pixies and Nymphs like the same kinds'a places, so I might be
able to get two things outta the way at the same time, an' find some
other Nymphs ta talk stuff over with.

I also wanna see if we can find that centaur-lady, Melody. We'd asked
her ta' take care of some stuff for us while we were in there, an'
that might save us some time if she managed to do it. Not the least
of which, I'd asked her ta find my dog. I hope he's okay...

Man, but listen ta' me, just talkin' on an' on about what I wanna do,
when the big question is, what do we wanna do? Is there even a "we"
any more? I mean, obviously Miss Cara's gonna be goin' back home, an'
that, unless I miss my guess, means that Bodie's gonna be goin' with
her. Harrison's probably gonna order M3rick back into the prison,
regardless of what the rest of us decide, an' after all that talk
about them monsters what extrude that dreamin' dark stuff, I got no
doubts that Kanatash is goin' back into the prison after 'em. Which
leaves Tirris an' I, pickin' our path again. But, beyond him finally
payin' me that five gold that he owes me, I don't really know where
we're goin'. Sellin' tanglefoot bags ta farmers don't quite seem like
such an adventure anymore...

Harrison's Reward choices better quantified:
Keep in mind That you will actually be able to choose 2 of these,
thanks to Kanatosh's community spirit.

Individual rewards option 1: Choose a magic item. He'll give you a
magic item from one of the main books. Non-relic/artifact.
Individual rewards option 2: New body (not new troops to command). He
has a small group of creatures (humanoid and otherwise) that were
killed in a particular way by psionic creatures that killed the mind/
soul and left the body intact.
Individual rewards option 3: Magic Absorbtion. He'll take the
abilities from a magic item and make them inherent to you. (you must
posess already or one that you get from one of your various rewards on
the way, this option does not come with an extra magic item)
Special Individual option for M3rrik: Different guns that won't run
out of ammunition.

Group reward option: Harrison will Summon a booty of semi-random
magical items. Estimated to be of more total value and more total
number than if you each took option 1, but very limited control over
the items to be summoned. (this option would leave everyone in the
party with only one individual reward to choose... unless you took
this twice, then there would be no individual rewards.)

[All completely out-of-character stuff follows:]

I forsee Kanatash absorbing his Amulet of Mighty Fists +5, and then
asking for an Amulet of Mighty Fists +5.

Do "main books" mean PHB/DMG/Eberron, or all the Complete and Races
books that are currently allowed?

What sort of bonus, if any, is the absorbed magic considered as? For
example, would an absorbed +6 STR item stack with reading a +6 STR
book?

When picking items from books, would we be limited to the 'named'
weapons and armor, or could we just ask for a +5 sword with +5 of
stuff?

And, could we get Harrison to identify the stuff we got from the frost
giants? We got the rings from the first giant, everything from the
third, and forgot to loot the second (although somebody probably
would've remembered).

I feel a bit like I've been in a daze since I was put in this body, so
forgive me if I missed a couple things.

Yes, I must escort Cara back to House Cannith, and I must see to a
couple items there. After that I would very much like to help our new
friends inside that prison by fixing what is broken and ensuring it
can't be abused as it was.

As for a reward, I suppose I'd most prefer to have my original body
back, complete with the changes caused by the celestials. If that
isn't possible, then I suppose I could do with some touching-up to
this body. I guess if it could be gotten to, you know, the "looks
like a race no one has seen before" kind of stage rather than the
"obviously a horrible monster" stage.

Secondarily would be something to increase either my insight or force
of personality. Permanent increases would be best, but I guess I
could wear something too, depending on what you've got available.

I suspect the group is not going to go for the "give up one collective
choice for the booty of semi-random things," so I guess it is up to
Goliath to slay Ralph.

TIME FOR DREW TO TRY TO BREAK THE GAME!!

If I had Harrison "absorb" my Boccob's spellbook into me, would that
have little effect other than ensuring I would always have the book
with me, or would it do something I am not anticipating, like
accidentally making me cast like a sorcerer? I suspect the answer
will be "you, and he, would not know until you tried it."

I trust "intelligent items" are not available as "items from one of
the main books?" I do not think they necessarily count as relics or
artifacts, though obviously some are.

I will have the smokestick absorbed into me, and always be able to
create smoke by opening my mouth. Even better than an ever-smoking
bottle! Or far worse.

I have the sneaking suspicion that no matter what I end up choosing,
Kurt will have blown me out of the water. I miss my endless hours of
talking about hilarious mechanics :(

Looking through my character sheet reminds me how hilariously poorly I
have done actually getting good magic items in either campaign. It
helps that Grudd only needs one item, and Tirris is so many kinds of
useless that there is no real hope for him having a claim to anything.

I wish to ask for a helm of opposite alignment and have it absorbed
into me.

I choose two rings of elemental control: water, sell them, and retire.

I will have something picked out by tomorrow, though I definitely want
to know if intelligent items are allowed. And whether anyone else in
the party will not just pick two +5 stat books.

That was, if you did not suspect it, out-of-character. As will be
this:

We get rewards from House Cannith as well? I must have been busy
having someone feed me off-camera when that came up in the game.

We're assuming rewards from House Cannith. Those of us who were
recruited by Joby or Dorgon at the start of the campaign were promised
rewards for saving Cara, as was Kanatash when he signed on during our
first trip to Harrison's house via the All-Door. So we've got
Harrison's rewards and our recruiter rewards for certain, but, as our
mission was kept secret from House Cannith, we've got nothing promised
from them. Who knows, maybe they'll just be mad at us for getting
Lord Jacinth arrested way back in the day!

Intelligent items are unique and not explicitly part of the "choose an
item" choice Docent's are also not on the "choose an item" list. In
fact nothing where you have a menu of choices to pick and choose from
is on the "pick an item list"

However:
As mentioned, some A La Cart menue items will have a luck check
involved. DC based on how twisted it is, figured on the cuff at the
time of the request with little regard for mathematical fariness.
So for example:
Any potion of mormal spell level range: Certain.
Scroll of any one spell: Certain
Wand of any one spell in normal wand range: Certain
Rod,ring, staff, or wondrous item from a book: Certain
Listed specific weapon or armor (plate armor of the deep, Trident of
Warning): Certain
"Simple" weapons and armor (up to +5 enhancement only): Certain
various other weapons, armors, docents and intelligent items: Not
certain.
a few 'uncertain examples':
Common weapon of one element type (sword of flaming burst): Likely
Common Armor of one elemental resistance (Plate of resist frost 30):
Likely
Uncommon weapons/armor of the same: less likely
Weapons and armors of combined extra effects: ranging from: somewhat
likely to highly unlikely
An intelligent item or docent where you don't care what the item is or
the docent does: very likely to have, not necessarily likely to give
you for your own safety
A specific intelligent item. the less likely the more
specific(starting at "unlikely")

Hopefully that helps a little or makes Drew's decision all the more
difficult.

However: ALL of those items (certain, likely, and unlikely alike)are
equally likely in the "Random pile of stuff for the party" You just
will have no idea what you get until you open the box.
